Positive Negative Vases

This is a lesson I got from another great art teacher website http://www.artprojectsforkids.org/. I taught it to my 2nd graders and it was a big success. First we looked at some artwork that showed examples of positive and negative space (Edward Hopper's House by the train tracks, a photo portrait of Abe Lincoln and others) and discussed what positive and negative space is.
