Gender in Art Education

Today I attended a conference at Kutztown University in PA. The central theme was "Teaching Art with Gender in Mind" The key note speaker was JUDY CHICAGO! I feel lucky and so happy that I was able to hear her speak about this relevant topic. To find more information about teaching using her famous The Dinner Party as an entry into the subject of women's history and the absence of women in much of historical literature, visit www.throughtheflower.org/
Through the Flower is a non-profit Feminist art organization founded by Judy Chicago in 1978. Our mission is to educate a broad public about the importance of art and its power in countering the erasure of women's achievements.
